After secondary school, Steve Brown studied Fine Art, Art History, and Photography in college, further developing their artistic skills and deepening their understanding of mixed media. Unable to self-fund further education, they entered the healthcare field, where their caring and creative nature allowed them to connect with others in need.
After many years in healthcare, including a decade with the Emergency Ambulance Service, SteveBrown experienced cumulative traumatic events. Encouraged by their wife, they returned to art and pursued a Diploma in Children’s Illustration, reigniting their artistic journey through a new avenue.
For the past nine years, Steve Brown has enjoyed a successful career as a children’s book illustrator, represented by The Bright Agency in both the UK and New York. They have collaborated with major publishers like Scholastic and Hachette and are currently working with Jeffrey Archer on an exciting new project.
In recent years, creating art has become an essential and cathartic outlet for [Artist’s Name], serving as a way to explore the depths of their creative consciousness. Their work is deeply personal, driven by music, movies, and nature. Everything they create is fueled by energy.
Steve Brown works in a variety of styles, including abstract, contemporary, urban, and graphic, using different textures to enhance their expression. They often create their art at home, listening to music and allowing the flow and vibrations to inspire emotions.
When working on their music and movie icon artwork, [Artist’s Name] immerses themselves in the films and songs of the subjects, capturing the energy and emotions through each painting. The artwork evolves organically, guided more by feeling than thought.
They prefer to work on a large scale, which allows for more expressive painting, and use bold colors throughout their work, whether abstract or pop/contemporary.
