One Shell of a Ride – JR009

One Shell of a Ride – JR009

These grown-from-the-ground vehicles are so much more interesting than the buses of the past, as most of their drawbacks have been addressed. First of all, they are obviously autonomous, so no need to have your jolly morning ruined by a grumpy driver. Mind you that Druitt guy was a nice chap. But as it has been the industry standard for a couple of decades now, all public transport can move around without the need for drivers. Back when this all started they realised the incredible possibilities of genetic engineering, and soon the cost of growing your breed of Bus – Turtle Hybrid became less than the drivers’ wages, so it was a no brainer.

The other very convenient aspect was that these gentle beasts didn’t mind picking you up and dropping you off exactly where you wanted, instead of having to wait in the rain at a crowded bus stop. And speaking of gentle, the third thing is, the ride is as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Remember that incessant clattering of the seats, windows, hangers, and basically everything inside the old buses while they were moving? Me neither, thankfully!

One good thing that hasn’t changed: they are still affordable! As they mostly feed on microplastics, the fuel costs are negligible. One bad thing that hasn’t changed, the cheap ticket prices attract the type of kids that you wouldn’t want to see in a dark alley. But hey ho, this is my stop, have a good day.
