This image is based on a photograph taken after a collision with an oncoming cyclist. I was in pain and wanted the photo so I could see the scene from the outside or some future perspective, which worked in terms of pain management. The portrait is heavily layered with contrasting shades of pastels showing beneath others and lots of spatula work for straight lines and movement.
