TIM RONEY studied photography in Salisbury & moved to London at the beginning of the 1980’s and started working for Radio Times as a regular contributor, expanding into other areas of television taking stills for amongst others C4, HatTrick and Celador production companies working also for various TV Magazines,The Sunday Telegraph Supplement & Economist magazines photographing a wide and extensive range of subjects including many acting luminaries, comedians, writers, singers, and politicians in the studio and on location.

Shortly after, Tim moved into the world of music photographing bands, and musicians which is an area he really enjoyed and which took him all over the world working with the teams on Smash Hits, Top of The Pops, and CD.UK Magazine. It was whilst covering Ant and Dec’s hit TV Show every Saturday morning that Tim regularly photographed some of the biggest stars of the day – Take That, Spice Girls, Usher, Boy George & Erasure to Pink, Justin Timberlake & Pharell Williams among others.

Tim’s photographs have appeared in publications worldwide including Rolling Stone & Billboard, and his pictures have appeared in many documentaries and films often in shows covering the 80’s,90’s & 00’s

Tim’s 40 extraordinary year career has led him to photograph anyone and everyone who has been in the public eye from the world of show business and the corridors of power from Margaret Thatcher to Cardinal Basil Hume & rubbing shoulders with the likes of French & Saunders & Pamela Anderson, Janet Jackson & REM along the way.
